Top priority: Ensuring quality – iSQI celebrates 15th year company anniversary

The certification company iSQI has been working for 15 years certifying people and making an important contribution to quality assurance in all economic sectors. Certifications, as they are still offered today by iSQI, were just about to start getting widely known in 2004. Since then, iSQI can look back on a rapid growth and is one of the largest certifiers worldwide with headquarters in Potsdam, three international branches and 30,000 certifications per year.

iSQI was founded by Arbeitskreis Software-Qualität und -Fortbildung e.V. (ASQF). Initially funded by an initiative of the federal state of Bavaria. The need for uniform education standards in the IT industry was so urgent at the time that iSQI became an independently financed company shortly after. Certifications, such as the ISTQB® scheme widely accepted among software testers, iSQI helps experts from all countries to understand each other better on a technical level. “The aim was and still is to create iSQI as an independent authority for a consistently high-level of quality in the training of IT specialists worldwide” explains Stephan Goericke, iSQI CEO since 2005. “The topic is still a key factor today as it was 15 years ago because constant learning shapes the IT industry,” says Bernd Hindel, who supported the foundation in 2004 as president of ASQF e.V.

What began with around 300 certifications sold each year was in the five-digit range five years later: iSQI had already sold 10,000 certifications in over 50 countries in 2009. In 2013, the first subsidiary iSQI B.V. was founded in the Netherlands, closely followed by iSQI Ltd. in the UK in 2014 and iSQI, Inc. in the USA in 2015. Today, iSQI certifies around 30,000 professionals annually in more than 100 countries and is considered an established player in the global market. “Only very few can afford to concentrate on a regional market today. There are incomparably more competitors, contracts are concluded in several languages, goods and services are offered all over the world. That is why the qualification of personnel is more important than ever.” says Goericke.

Today, iSQI has more than 50 international standardized exams in its portfolio. These include globally recognized certifications for software testers and requirement engineers as well as other professions and topics. For example, iSQI also certifies agile work, which is increasingly being implemented across industries, or Design Thinking, an agile, user-oriented approach to work together in a team to develop creative results.

Digitalization, automation and the use of artificial intelligence have brought changes to methods and to core areas. Fundamental changes are emerging that will alter our society in the upcoming years. “After 15 years of working intensively in the IT training sector, iSQI has shown with complete clarity that without specialists, automation is nothing. Artificial intelligence is nothing without people who specify to it what is ‘intelligent’. The more complex the systems become, the more important will be training and ongoing professional development. The formula for the future is: Digitization is qualification plus automation – upskilling leads digitalization.” says Goericke.

About iSQI
The International Software Quality Institute (iSQI), with offices in Potsdam (DE), Gorinchem (NL), London (UK) and Boston (USA) is a leading provider of certification examinations worldwide. For 15 years, iSQI has continued to play a large role in certifying the know-how of IT professionals in over 100 countries on 6 continents in 10 languages. With over 30,000 certifications per year, iSQI paves the way for successful career development.

Empirix Announces SaaS-Based Testing to Accelerate the Software Development Lifecycle

BILLERICA, Mass. – Today, Empirix announces the release of its new software-as-a-service (SaaS) testing platform, the Hammer Cloud Platform. This new, comprehensive offering integrates the following functions: functional, regression, systems integration, performance, and customer experience testing into an easy to use SaaS platform designed to mitigate risk and accelerate the software development lifecycle within contact center environments and enterprise networks.

Hammer Cloud Platform (HCP) is intended for infrastructure planning, application development (AppDev), DevOps, operations, and quality assurance (QA) teams who need to frequently execute tests to ensure their contact center applications are ready for business. Regular testing has become increasingly important with the adoption of DevOps methodologies. It eliminates the defects caused by accelerated release cycles and allows DevOps teams to reduce mean time to repair, reduce rework costs, and provide a differentiated experience for customers.

With HCP, cross-functional teams can create, schedule and execute QA test cases, deploy large-scale tests, and execute ongoing active test scenarios in a production environment to ensure optimal customer experience. Teams can easily migrate test cases between applications and facilitate workflow efficiencies, and open APIs allow integration with configuration management, bug tracking, inventory tools, and other solutions.

The Hammer Cloud Platform includes:

“Empirix is breaking new ground with the release of Hammer Cloud Platform,” said Chief Strategy Officer Franco Messori. “Open APIs, cross-functional workflows and the ability to test across the entire software development lifecycle mitigates the inherent risk that is always present for test and DevOps teams. Hammer Cloud Platform accelerates release cycles and simply makes their jobs easier.”

Central to this new offering is the release of Hammer On-Demand Performance, a SaaS-based load-testing application that validates system interoperability and performance when technology or process changes occur within a contact center or unified communications telephony environment. By identifying defects both pre- and post-change, test teams are able to proactively manage customer impact while accelerating technology release cycles.

Hammer Cloud Platform is now generally available in North America.
